The device didn’t come with Garlic OS, and just like other reviews mentioned, it wouldn’t boot past the Anbernic logo. I followed Kenio Dias’ advice to reinstall the firmware using the RG35XX Plus version, and it finally worked perfectly!
The SD card that came with the device is known to be faulty since it's cheap. To avoid performance issues, it’s best to replace it with a quality SD card. For my setup, I used a 32GB SD card for the OS (slot TF1) and a 128GB card for games (slot TF2)
Received the item yesterday—just 4 days after ordering (North Luzon). Device is well packed, and games are already included. Spent hours setting it up, and it was absolutely worth it. I’m really happy with my device now

As mentioned in another review, I also had some issues initially where it wouldn’t boot past the Anbernic logo. After tinkering around with the device, I managed to flash muOS onto it (thanks to Retro Game Corps) and now I’ve been enjoying my RG35XX.
I bought this mainly to play various Pokémon ROM hacks and I’m excited to finally work through my backlog lol. Thanks, DB!
I had some issues at first and device wouldn't boot past the anbernic logo. After tinkering around with the SD card I was able to flash a new image of the stock OS and now it's working as intended.
For those having the same issue, I used the RG35xx plus / 2024 stock os version which can be obtained directly from anbernic website. Make sure to backup your roms first.
Also if you can afford get a decent quality SD card alongside it. And if Wi-Fi is your thing, go for the plus or pro version.
