The best of both worlds (gaming and productivity)

You get what you paid for and then some.
As of this writing, many of the issues surrounding 3D Cache tech used by AMD has mostly been resolved as of the latest Windows 11 Updates (I'm using the 23H2 build) and AMD themselves to manage the Asymmetrical nature of the CCDs using AMD 3D V-Cache Performance Optimizer Service (since only one CCD has the extra Cache).

You can easily manipulate core parking now via Windows' Power plan setting, using balanced mode, when running games, it parks the
other CCD. going high performance power plan, will not park the other cores (instead, delegate the other background processes to the other CCD, while your game still enjoys the benefits of the high cache).

The only differences of this chip vs the 7950X is that, one CCD has higher cache and 7950X3D has lower TDP 120w vs 7950X's 170w
Get this processor if you game a lot and still want to do some productivity task on the side. for purely productivity use-cases, get the 7950X instead.

A very good CPU, but…

The extra CCD does virtually nothing for performance and turning it off in BIOS gives it better performance, around the same as a 7800X3D. There’s no real reason to get a 7950X3D when the 7800X3D has better out-of-the-box performance.

2024 EDIT: After being recommended Process Lasso, I've decided to turn on the second CCD and offload productivity apps there. My experience has been better than with CCD1 off.
