The solar panel charges 1~2% per day in the shade with moderate use. This means you will never need to manually recharge the camera even in the shade. As a reference, the camera uses about 1% of its battery at night. In direct sunlight, the solar panel charges 15~20% per day. More than necessary for constant video streaming.
If you need to place the solar panel further away from the camera, it comes with a second 3.8m cable, and you don't need to use the original camera base with the empty solar panel support, the camera base is detachable with its own screw holes.
I am very satisfied with the purchase.
The Wi-Fi signal is excellent. My camera is reasonably far from the router and with several walls between them, and the video stream is still great.
