My M4 Pro only has 512GB of storage so I needed an external ssd for video editing since my client usually sends me over 80 to 100GBs of raw footage per project. I have been using it for a week now, to add, I edit the projects straight from the ssd and no lags at all.
The size is so convenient as well. You can definitely bring it anywhere and it won't take up much space in your bag!
It's definitely worth it.
